MCM Expo!

Hello Hello!

MCM Expo was going on this weekend and it was amazing. The Dino-Saw-Us Passport game was played out in the Comic Village and before we start planning the next one, we just wanted to ask exhibitors and visitors alike for feedback. How did you find it? What did you enjoy and what weren't you so keen on?

Leave a comment here or drop us an email at thepancakeclub [AT] gmail [DOT] com

Oh! Plus! We'll be uploading the photos we have of completed passports over the week... If you have a passport full of stickers then send us a photo of it!

We hope you enjoyed it!

THIS WEEKEND!!

Dino-Saw-Us II will be held this weekend!!

The passports are fresh from the printers all folded and ready to go! But if you are worried you might get there on the day and they have all run out fear not- just go and print out this jpg (click to enlarge) and you can collect stickers on that. We have 500 passports so if you are coming early you should be able to pick one up! (who knows, maybe there will be enough to last the whole weekend, we're just not sure yet!)

SEE YOU THERE!

Thursday 20 May 2010

30 Artists!

So far 30 artists have confirmed they will have stickers at the MCM Comic Village! If you haven't let us know you are taking part yet please comment below or email us ASAP so we can add you to the list!

Next week we will make the passports available as pdfs for you to download and print out although there will be 500 passports on the day so perhaps you will only need to print one out to bring if you are coming on the sunday (as the printed passports may have run out by then)

Please do spread the word about the game on your blog/website/twitter/facebook/painted on the side of your car etc etc

If you haven't ordered any stamps or stickers you still have time if you do so this week but we will also have blank stickers on the day- still let us know if you plan to provide drawn stickers rather than ordering some so you can be included on the list too. We'd love it if every stall could be involved (though understand if you really hate the idea and would rather not speak to anyone or give away a lovely sticker to anyone with a passport on the day)

blah blah blah type type type that's all I can think of right now. If you want to send us a photo of your stickers before hand we will add them to the blog so go ahead!

Thursday 29 April 2010

MCM EXPO!

We have a new contact email address for Dino-Saw-Us which is thepancakeclub@gmail.com

If you will be attending MCM Expo comic village and want to be part of the Dino-Saw-Us sticker game let us know and order your stickers as soon as you can! (if you were involved before you may have stickers already...but we plan to have more passports this time so you may want to get more...) It will work the same as last time but if you are new to the game then take a look at the old blog posts and check back here for more info.

We will be updating the blog over the next couple of weeks with the new list of stall holders with stickers and such like.

Spread the word!

WOO HOO!

Future PASSPORTS!

Keep sending in any completed passports anyone who took part- or reviews or your thoughts etc. And thanks to people who have already!

We are now looking into running this at other events- hopefully MCM Expo comic village in May and Though Bubble in November. I'll be trying to contact the relevant people about this. Our first DINO-SAW-US at the Thing went really well and encouraged people to visit every stall and to talk to people and was fun!

We funded the passport printing ourselves, 180 were printed in total but we ran out on the day and probably could have done with double that amount for people who wanted to join in.....so we will probably have to discuss with event organisers if they have any funding towards printing of passports or some way round this (like anyone who can print them or has access to a free photocopier or anything like that!) Anyway, if you are interested in this being held at a comic event do get in touch with me!

WOWSA!

"Hi Lizz

here is a scan of my completed passport. Well done, it was a great idea and I had loads of fun running around trying to collect stickers. I came over to your table but there was no one there and no stickers.

Thanks again for letting me take part.

Take care, enjoy the bank holiday

Shabs"

Sorry you missed my stickers- I must have been off collecting stickers myself! I'll give you two at the next event to make up for it!

AND MORE!

"Hey,

Just emailing to say,I've got a dino-saw-us passport to show!!
It's not exactly completed but I tried to get a few while I was at the event.

HOORAY!

I couldn't find my digital camera in time for the Thing so I had to use the lame camera on my phone. Boo hoo.

But still - look at all those stickers! I'm afraid I didn't catch the passport-holder's name but they are clearly a dab hand at this sticker collecting thing.

If you've got a passport to show off then let us know! And thanks again for participating!

Completed Passports!!

I was sent an email from Tim and Clare with their completed passports!! They also said-

"I just want to say thanks for organising this - it was a really great way to enjoy the Thing, break the ice with stallholders, meet people, and end up with a nifty memento afterwards! I am definitely in favour of this being done at future Things, and indeed any other event.

Thanks again!"

Any more passports or comments do email us!

HOORAY!

Just a quick (but massive) thank you to everyone who got involved with the Dino-Saw-Us Passport game at the UK Web and Comix Thing 2010.

If you've got any photos/scans of completed passports then send them over - we'd love to see them.

Hopefully we'll run it again at other events so watch this space!

Thanks again!

Quick Question

Hello!

We're trying to put together a little map of which stalls will have stickers/stamps... So, would you all be able to let us know which table you're exhibiting on?

Also - we're bringing along 100 pages of blank stickers for people who didn't know about the project. That way, everyone can participate!

Stamped passports, ready to go!

Here is a sneak preview of the passports all stamped and ready for the Thing next Saturday. The plan at the moment is to give a few out to each artist who is participating in the game and they can then give them to people on the day. There are only 180 total passports which we thought was a lot but given that there are over 30 people with stickers involved (and perhaps more who get involved on the day) that is only 6 per person, so collectors- you will have to get there early to get a passport book I'm afraid!

This is the first time we have run this before but if it proves successful and fun for everyone we will hopefully do it again at other events! so feedback afterwards and on the day is much appreciated!

Less than a week to go!

Wednesday 17 March 2010

A week and 2 days to go!

Blah blah blah just a quick update-

Lots of artists are now part of the Dino-Saw-Us sticker hunt (see list on the right!) and I've had many emails from people who are not exhibiting saying they are coming along to collect stickers. If you haven't ordered your stickers or stamps yet I'd say there is possibly still time if you do it NOW but obviously there is a risk that they won't arrive before next week...

....so....people who haven't been able to get stickers don't worry or feel like you will be left out- the passports insides are blank so perhaps you could do a quick drawing or something if people want to get a stamp from you in their passports!

If you have photos of your stickers/stamps let me know and I'll add them to the blog. Next week we will put together a map for people to print out so they know what stalls they can collect from (and we'll try and bring some copies too if you can't print it out) Woo!

YEAHHH oh yeah! :oD

More sticker goodness!

Stickers are arriving!

Look! Stickers are arriving! (above photo stolen from Keo, I hope he doesn't mind!)

Mine came the other day and a few other people have let me know they have their stickers/stamps ready! There should still be time to get yours if you haven't yet or if you want to be involved but are not on the list (let me know if so!)

YEAH!
